On June 11, 2024 I was notified that our insurance company (or the entity that took over our claim for our insurance company that went bankrupt) agreed to settle for what i have been asking for all along. (If you’re new to the blog, check out this post)
It’s been 20 months since Hurricane Ian.
It’s been 16 months since I hired a public adjuster.
It’s been 5 months since we have been fully moved into a completed home.
Are we lucky? Sure. More importantly, we are strong, resilient, steadfast, intelligent and unwilling to settle for less than what we deserve.
I’m not going to get out the confetti until the checks are safely deposited in our bank account, but I do believe we have reached the end of a very, very long road.
We have begun to move on with life in it’s state of “new normal”. Brian is putting together his garage/wood shop. I am growing things and baking up a storm in the kitchen.
I’m putting my business back together and offering more services and reading types than before, so please keep an eye out for the release of the updated website!
I will also be posting soon about my Sourdough adventures. I had no idea that the sourdough became popular during lockdown, I am just catching on now!
Until next time,
Marie
